Okkkkk Sooooo when HIGHSAUN FILMS hit me up with an artist to interview, I was more than ready to meet the newcomer he wanted to introduce to our industry. HIGHSAUN with his usual self...straight to the point, kept it short, and let off a few quick laughs. I was left wondering who and what exactly VELLE300 is about.
I spoke sporadically with VELLE300, confirming his interview over at the Iam216radio station (*S/o to DJChucktheworld). He seemed super polite, humble, and very thankful for the interview opportunity. While I sat in my whip...ya know...parking lot pimpin...aaduhhhhhh...I saw VELLE300 pull up in a Cadillac. I was thinking...he seems like he would drive a caddy...that old soul kinda vibe...smooth...chill.
We climbed the never ending flight of of stairs to the top, and picked 2 seats in back of the studio to get acquainted. I noticed VELLE300 was happy. I could literally feel his positive energy. He smiled constantly...not a weird creeper smile...but a sincere smile.
He mos def gave off the "nice guy, Sister Sister "Ohhhhh Roger", play brother" kinda vibe...in a good way people....sheesh. So of course I had to go above and beyond to shock him, pick his brain, put him on the spot, and see if he was ready for any and everything. Let's get introduced to VELLE300.
Q.You say you're "CLEVELAND's FINEST", why are you the finest?
A. Cuz of all the originality I bring...my life. I put everything into my music. I'm literally putting my heart out there so people can relate. "You feel Me".
Q. What are things people can relate to?
A. Life...just the up's and downs, the hardships, trials and tribulations, success, the real coming from the bottom hustle...the grind.
Q. What is the most difficult tribulations you've ever had to overcome?
A. Losing my father last year, thats the most difficult tribulation I've had to overcome, that and finding myself. It took me a long time to get here. I went through a lot of name changes.
Q. How did you get the name Velle300?
A. My middle name is Marvell! I got 300 cuz I always keep it 300, I keep it so real, I'm not scared to say the hard things.

A. Yes, April 10
Q. How would you describe your sound or genre of music?
A. Rap, R&B, Trap Soul..with originality. I like to harmonize.
Q. Are you a writer?
A. Yes, I'm more of a writer. I actually sit down and write about what's going on in my life...that's how I get it all out.
Q. Do you have kids?
A. Yes...2
Q.Are you from CLEVELAND?
A.Yes, I grew up in East Cleveland, and later I moved over to South Euclid.
Q. Do you enjoy South Euclid?
A. Yes it's safe to raise a family?
Q. Do you drink?
A. No...I only smoke.
Q. Sooooo you would rather smoke vs drink,,,why?
A. Drinking kills more people, it's just a legal drug that they can actually put a tax on. I blacked out when I was drinking.
Q. What were you drinking?
A. BOMBAY, I'll never drink bombay again...I haven't drank in 3-4 years.
Q. What's the name of your new project?
A. "BUY IT ALL"...it's got a nice lil club beat.

A. Maurly T - Studio 76...
Q. How did you hook up with HIGHSAUN?
A. My brother from another mother...he saw how dedicated I am.
Q. Were you nervous about this interview?'
A. Ummm more like excited....I think I'm past the nerves cuz I known who I am and what I bring to the table...I know what I've got to offer.
Q.Have you done any visuals yet?
A. I did...but I wasn't satisfied with them.
Q. Sooooo you really are starting over?
A. Yeah I've already done it the wrong way...now I wanna do it the right way.
Q. Do you feel like you need to do anything "crazy" like crazy antics to create a buzz?
A. Nope, cuz at the end of the day it's not about fame for me, it's about the love of the music. Why would I stoop that low when it took me so long to find myself?
Wrapping up the interview with VELLE300 was cool. We laughed...and he proved himself to be relaxed and pretty much open to talk about anything. He survived the hella sh*t I talked and he was a good sport. VELLE300 seemed to be embracing and enjoying his musical rebirth.
